I received a message from Friendster the other day from a guy called Mark. Now, me being me, thought that this Mark guy is my friend from Manila just trying to see how I'm doing now that I'm back in Australia. It didn't even occur to me to check his profile as I thought that he would be the only Mark in my network to be messaging me anyway.
He asked me if I can give him my mobile number and so I gave him. Then I started blabbing about if he's going to get in contact with me, it'll be wiser and cheaper to text me on my Globe number than my Australian mobile number.
This morning, I received three missed calls from an unidentified number.
Hey, I was just wondering who you are and where you got my number from
Came the reply - Hey Nikki, it's mark from friendster. How's the weather in brissie?
Having a blonde moment - Oh hey, you know what, I thought you were my friend mark in the Phils, I didn't realise that ur a different mark. So how you doing?
His quick reply - LOL I'm doing good, in hobart now, how's the weather in surfers paradise, hehe
*Slaps myself for being stupid.*
Mum told me to just be friends with him. I checked his profile at Friendster and I think he's got a bit of Chinese blood in him. Definitely Asian. He's 25 and a bit keen to be friends with me.
It's weird. I'm weird. Everything is weird.
