A road trip is something that always takes my boo boos away
And my mum and Uncle Lucio know that.
Let's go to Toowoomba, Mum said.
Yeah, let's, Uncle agreed.
So yesterday, we all woke up at eight o'clock in the morning and packed our lunches and drove to Toowoomba.
Uncle drove.
It was a long drive and I was bored. So I started clicking away. I started talking. I started eating the food that mum prepared. I started singing. I started sleeping.
Boredom is something I can leave without. It makes me crazy sitting on the passenger seat for two hours with nothing to do.
So I started taking photos.
I started taking photos of nice cars along the Motorway.*
And I did promise my cousin that I'd take a real live photo of Wet N' Wild but this was the best I can do.
Hey, for a moving car, I think I did pretty well.
I got bored and I almost cried when I saw the long road that we have to drive through. To some people it may not be that bad. But my stepdad drives.. well, really, really slow.
So three hours later, we were in Toowoomba visiting a family friend.
My Auntie and I walked around the corner to order pizza so I pretty much got a tan out of the walk.
I went to USQ to get some brochures [no I'm not thinking of moving there for uni, but I just want to see what courses they offer].
I went to the Japanese Garden right next to the University and took photos of well, Japanese plants.
I went to Grand Central and I asked my Auntie if there are any pubs and clubs in Toowoomba. Apparently, not much. Well, not compared to surfers though.
Nikki, you always just go by yourself everywhere we go, Mum complained.
I told them I was going for a drive to explore the place and they got scared that I would get lost.
Mum, I'm 21 and I can read maps, I said.
Sometimes she thinks I'm still her little baby. It's endearing actually. It just gets a little too much sometimes.
So that was my day - well, yesterday.
I love going on a road trip and I love spending time with my family. I felt like I haven't been talking to them for a while. That gave us time to catch up on what's been happening.
A road trip would have to have conversations
Conversations that I wasn't prepared for.
So, you're single again this year, Mum teased.
Mum, you know, I can't hear that enough, I snapped.
I'm just saying, you need to have a boyfriend, she said.
Well, I'm not a lesbian if that's any consolation, I'm just happy to be single, I answered.
Too happy in my opinion, she complained. She never liked me going out and having fun. She wants me to settle down and get married and have lots of babies.
Shudders.
What are you doing, Nikki. You have people calling you all the time asking about you and somehow you never bring home a man, she rambled on.
Whatever happened to Johnson? He calls everyday asking about you but you never seem to get back to him, she continued.
Ok, Mum I promise you, before Easter I'll bring home a nice boy that you will definitely fall in love with, I said.
Easter? That's months away, she exclaimed.
Well, take it or leave it, I said.
You don't want to be like your cousins, do you?**, she asked.
I won't be like them. I'm 21, I think it's still early to be thinking of me being an old maid, I replied.
We have this conversation all the time. It's either the when-are-you-going-to-bring-home-a-boy conversation or the what-are-you-going-to-do-with-your-life. It doesn't get old. It just gets amusing now.

Funny how my sitemeter says otherwise.
Blogging is becoming an addiction
I started blogging a couple of years ago. I settled at blogger a year ago. And I haven't looked back since.
I remember one cousin telling me to not wanting to blog.
Why do I have to blog, I get my jollies from reading yours, he said.
Then today, I came across his blog. Don't ask me how. I just did.
I have yet to pay him out about it.
Thought: haven't spoken to him for a while. I wonder what the little crappo's been upto.
Need I say more?
