Did I tell you I love my panget?

We were in Pacific Fair when he dragged me into going to City Beach, the local surf shop that sells a lot of Havaianas. Not just havaianas thongs but havaianas beach accessories too.

Now, I don't know how I became a fan of Havaianas. I think it was when I was in Philippines for three months back in 2004 and all my cousins and I did were go to different beaches. Yep, from November to February, all we did was to go to Puerto Galera, Anilao and Zambales. That's when I turned really really black and I was unrecognisable by my friends because I came back sporting a tan and twenty pounds heavier.

Anyway, I bought a few pairs of the thongs here to bring to Manila not knowing that there was a massive thongs craze in Manila. After that, I got hooked on it. Not only are they comfy but they look nice on my feet.

Now that we established how I developed my havaianas crush, back to the story please, Emmet dragged me to City Beach. I was working that night so I was in a hurry to get his ass out of the shop and go home to get ready for work.

But no, I thought at the time, how inconsiderate he was being but then he turned to me and said, Can you go outside for a while?

The nerve of this guy! Telling me what to do, I was fuming. Not only I was running late for work but he ordered me around in front of people.

Then he said, I shouldn't say this but we're here. I have something for you.

And there on the counter sat a massive Havaianas floater. The kind that put in a pool and just sits there prettily looking at you.

It's massive. I'm telling you right now, it's way taller than me and I'm 5'3.

I was in shock. I never thought he had it in him to pull something so spontaneous. The lady helped us track down how many colours available.

Which colour do you want, he asked.

Green one, I said rather quickly.

So he turned to the lady and asked if there was a green one.

Unfortunately, no, we only have blue ones, she replied.

That'll do, I said. I swear, I was like on drugs or something. Like on pills that was just all wide-eyed and sweaty and salivating.

Who could blame me, my boyfriend went and bought me a havaianas floaters. You would salivate too!

So we left City Beach with me oh so happy and Emmet oh so happy as well for making my day.

How did I get so lucky?

Not only can you look at the floaters but you can use the purse that comes with it to store your cosmetics and other stuff, he said.

He's so efficient, I love that about him

So we went home, I left my new baby with him cos he was going to inflate them for me.

As I was driving home to work, I got a called from him.

Hey panget, where are you, he asked.

On my way to work, what's up, I asked. I was scared cos he never calls me around that time because he knows I'm driving and he knows how uncoordinated I am.

Nothing, I'm just at Surfers looking at some stuff, he said. He was rather coy about it.

What stuff, I asked.

Oh you'll find out later panget, he said. Have fun at work, he added.

I called him after work cos I usually stop by his house after work to watch a DVD and to just chill for a little bit with him.

When I arrived at his house he came out and told me that we were going to the Petrol Station.

Oh goody, we'll inflate my floater, I said.

We should take two cars cos they won't fit in mine, he said.

Then he pulled out another bag.

He bought me the green one too.

He actually went to Surfers to hunt for the green floater.

I'm so spoiled it's not fair. But I don't care because I love it.

I not only have the blue havaianas floater, I also have the green!!

I love it so much, I stare at it whenever I wake up.

I love it so much, I woke Mum up in the middle of the night to show her.

I had a predicament at first. My room isn't very big but that won't stop me from not having the havaianas in my room. I refuse to let them sleep in the study.

So the green one stands proudly close to my closet and the blue one lies next to it.

I never had anyone care so much about me this much that he would go out of his way to buy me those just to make me happy.

My worst dreams are coming true, I dreamed that havainas are taking over our house, this is it, Mum said.

She said it in a good way because she, too, knows that no other guy had ever made me this happy.

In other news

I've been reading Perez Hilton for about three months or so now. I got so addicted to reading celebrity gossips that I check it at least twice a day.

So seeing as I'm familiar with botched botox, anti-depressants, eating disorders and pain-killers you'd think I wouldn't be shock to find out that someone I know who is closely related to my dad in Far Far Far away Canada had checked herself into rehab because of her drug addiction.

Well, not really drug addiction, more of like she had a botched botox and had it redone again and the doctor prescribed her with pain killers and now she can't live without it - what do you call that?

I never really thought it would happen to me. It's all-so-Hollywood, it's not really the kind of drama I thrive for.

I may be like a vulture preying on celebrities' pains and humiliations but not when it happens to my family.

It's disgusting having to deal with it and it pains me to see my dad go through all of it.

I know he's a strong man and money is no object but still, what about the emotional stress that this will cause him?

I know I'm not close to my dad and I haven't spoken to him for so long but I don't want this to happen to him. He doesn't deserve this.

I may be naughty but I'm no monster.

Let's just all pray for the recovery of his wife, shall we?
