The bout at Lova Palooza...

Finally experienced the Lova Palooza. Nothing much going on except the hundreds of couples who kissed and the fireworks display afterwards.

Wer u guys @? Wre hre at Blue bay, getting hardr nd hardr to restrain ppl frm stealn your seats. Pls,hrry. came this text message from my cousin's fiance at seven-thirty.

I sat on my bed staring at my mobile phone. My thumb poised on reply.

"B der n a jif. Dyahe syo, sowy got held up."

I felt bad for having her wait for me at Baywalk all alone. It wasn't my fault though. My auntie herded me and Carlo to go with her at SM Bicutan to do some grocery shopping.

Finally got to go home at six-fifteen. As soon as the car was parked, I raced to the bathroom and had an uber-quick shower and decided on my clothes after. Nothing fancy, just a pair of faded jeans and an oxford shirt. Very little make-up and called for Carlo, Sheiy, Sheryl and Cholo - my official dates for the night.

We all decided to do the Relatives-Only-Valentine-Since-Two-Of-Us-Have-No-Lovelives-Whatsoever-And-One's-Beau-Is-At-Work-Damn-You-Call-Centres-And-I'm-Getting-Married-To-Your-Cousin-Soon this year.

Elaboration: Carlo and I? Kaput, Zero, Nada, None. 'Nuff said.

Sheiy? Well, Bel is at work doing the graveyard shift so she has no choice but to make tiyaga nalang sa amin.

Melai? She's trying to live the single life. Trying to squeeze in gimiks in between saving up for the reception, making my cousin happy, deciding which gown to wear and driving away the wedding jitters.

Cholo? Well, better get that twelve-year-old rascal ready for girlfriends. At age twelve, he has girls calling him over and over. He has letters stuffed in between the pages of his books. I can see an up-and-coming Carlo in Cholo. Not again.

Sheryl just wanted to spend time with us. Take a break from her five kids.

Ok, back to the topic at hand..

Met with Melai at ten o'clock. Turned out she brought friends with her so she wasn't as mad as we expected. She was arguing with the waiter when we reached their table. I stood. No intentions on staying there for a long time. I wanted to walk and buy that Lova Palooza t-shirt. Now, I don't know if it was only available for volunteers or Carlo pulled one on me and tricked me just so we didn't have to walk.

The night for me didn't do justice til it was around one in the morning. How's this for a night at Baywalk...

Sat at Blue Bay for two hours listening to comediennes talk about the size of their privates and wishing how convenient it would've been if God didn't provide us with spine.. You figure out what they meant by that.

Being totally bored out of my mind, I drank three cans of San Mig Light dragged a few Marlboro Lights and was more than a little buzzed when we stood up to witness "THE KISS".

Criss-crossing my way to Aristocrat to listen to someone sing, I realised that the event was lame. I couldn't find the t-shirt I wanted and I was the only one drunk.

We were all looking at each other waiting for someone to take the lead and to bring us to one of the bars at Malate for some post-Lova Palooza booze drinking.

We arrived at arkdia. The place was hopping and it was SRO til about half an hour after we got there.

We then ordered a few more drinks and danced. One guy started dancing with me and hugging me and smiling at me. I would've loved the attention but it was hot and sticky and I was buzzed and he seemed to be the only one having a good time. I left the dance floor.

Carlo played the Tequila game. He drank two shots of it from a girl's tummy.

"Why don't we hold a Memorial for our past relationships and let this be our defining moment? We're young, we're pretty and we're filled will alcohol. Unleash our alter egos!!!" Err... Whatever you say. Carlo was way more drunk than I was.

We got home at four thirty. We were all pretty smashed. Lucky we didn't get into any accident.

But morning-afters aren't pretty.

I seriously have to stop drinking.
