Cupid's arrow [A late Valentine's Day post]

I've been struck by the cupid's arrow. So many times.

It's overwhelming how many people thought of me during Valentine's Day.

And I wish them all great happiness and true love in the future.

It touched me deeply that the people I haven't been in contact for a while had greeted me on this special day.

Even the people that had become a part of my uni life for only thirteen weeks and is now back in his country.

My ex-boyfriend. Who broke my heart for not being my Valentine last year but is now on speaking terms with again.

My cousin in Manila. Of course you know who he is. The anti-Valentine guy who has too many crazy stalker. My mono-syllabic cousin who'd rather chew off his own arm than tell me that he's a proud supporter of this day.

My sweet older cousin who never fails to send me a daily quote about God, Love and Life. Who emails me everyday just to tell me to make the right choices in life.

To never hurt anyone as karma will come right back and bite you in the ass.

Who sends me SMS every week just to be reminded that if the going gets tough, I have someone to talk to. Anytime.

My sister in Ontario who though, annoys the hell out of me, I know is out for my best interest. Though she starts her conversations with me with, "I'm very disappointed that you still don't know what you want to do with your life..." is very proud of me irregardless of what I do.

Only one person know my fetish for Looney Tunes, and that would be someone who lives far, far, far away from me but is still close to my heart. Thank you for even remembering me, even if we parted ages ago. I'll always be your girl. Promise.

It's heart warming when people whom you thought won't message you as your phone's been silent all day long but then started beeping nonstop because well, they just finished their work.

Or even someone who had gone hiatus on you for quite a while because he went away but then surprised you with a valentine greeting AND the news that he's coming back home.

Or your best friend's cousin whom you spent an awful lot of time having heart to heart talks with because he was feeling homesick.

And of course, your two best friends. And though you don't see them an awful lot lately, you know that friendships always come first.

I like this one. I didn't know that my phone has the same MMS template. But I love it.

Love it. Love it.

And of course, Emmett's hilarious attempt to cheer me up as he knows what happened with Amber's friend.

Love this Southpark inspired cartoon that he made for me.

And of course, Emmett made my Valentine really special

I had to cancel on Emmett because Uncle Lucio planned to take me out on a dinner date.

And of course, he was upset. Ready to break up upset.

This is our first Valentines and your ditching me, he said.

So I told him that I'd drop by for ten minutes after dinner just to greet him Happy Valentine's.

And so I did. I called him when I was outside his house and he jumped in the car with me. He asked me to drive him to the Post Office.

I'm kinda tired, baby, so can you get my mail for me, he asked.

Yeah sure, I replied. So I got out of the car and open his mailbox. In it was a box of chocolate and his present for me.

He was sitting in my car grinning from ear to ear. I am so amazed how sweet and thoughtful this guy is. He is definitely worth it.

Then we drove around Surfers to say hello to his friend.

I dropped him off home and he asked me if I want to go inside his house for a little bit.

His place was dark and usually he turns the light on straight after he gets in. Then he lighted a candle and in the middle of the room was a table set for two with Nando's takeaway.

It was so sweet I didn't know what I did to deserve him.

I'm not really hungry, I teased.

Just eat the chips, I just want to have a Valentine dinner with you, he begged.

I leaned over and gave him a kiss. A long, lingering kiss.

He is the best.

I'm seriously liking this guy.

Seriously.
