One year and still going

Emmet and I turned one year old yesterday.

It was refreshing celebrating an anniversary - again. It's been too long I forgot what it was like.

It was without a doubt one of the best nights of my life.

We started the day by doing some errands. I finally bought him the gps that I was meant to give to him for Christmas. But it was worth it. He really loved it.

It's one of the best gifts I ever received. Thank you, panget.

In return, he bought me a new hi-fi stereo. Because he knows I love music and I like cranking up the volume of my laptop so he did.

As if my room is not cluttered enough.

With the two giant havaianas floaters, a gym ball and now the hi-fi stereo. My room looked from this;

I'm not complaining. The hi-fi is in my list to buy for 2007. I'm stoked.

After the uber-expensive gift giving, we parted to get ready for our dinner.

With the help of TOM TOM, his new gps, we "navigated" our way to Q1 Skybar. It had the best view of the Gold Coast.

I'm not boasting or anything but my camera phone do take good photos.

We tried figuring out where Iris's house was, his house, my house, Griffith University - let's just say we were in stalker mode while we were up there.

But who could blame us. The view of the ocean was unbelievable - to think that it was pitch black. It was still gorgeous.

I told Emmet to push his body against the glass and look down. He didn't want to.

Who would?

First of all, it's too high. And the altitude of the place made us really tipsy after just a midori splice and cosmo.

But it doesn't matter, the place was amazing.

Those were just the signs on the floor and it shows you the distance of the place from q1.

We vowed to go back during the day to get a better view.

After the skybar, we drove the Burleigh Heads for a dinner at Mermaids - this restaurant that's litterally almost on the beach. Emmet booked a dinner reservation out at the balcony where you can smell the sea breeze and hear the waves crashing.

We ordered our entrees - kilpatrick for him, garlic prawns for me.

He boasted about their steak. And he had every right to be - the steak just melts in your mouth. Like butter only with more flavour. Yummy. The steak almost made me want to throw my smoked salmon over the balcony.

Almost, but the salmon melts in your mouth too.

After the mains, we decided to be really corny and shared a banana split. Now that I think about it, people probably barfed on their food. But I don't care.

It was eleven when we finished dinner. We decided to go to Conrad Jupiters to try our luck in the pokies.

We only spent twenty dollars. But in that twenty dollars we played for two hours had a midnight snack and a couple of beers. So really if you think about it, we probably won about a hundred dollars.

We got home and said our I love you's. It was an awesome day and one of the best nights of my life.

39 more anniversaries, panget. I love you.
