This morning, I set my alarm at 6:30am.
Why so early, you asked.
Cos BJ is one of the escort for the Commonwealth Games Baton Relay.
You can say that you touched the same torch that Elle McPherson held in Buckingham Palace, Dimps said.
The torch arrived in Tweed Heads at 9 in the morning. And since it's a forty-five minute drive from Southport to Tweed Heads, mum, Uncle and I had to get up pretty early to watch BJ for the run.
Even though we were trying to find out way for half an hour, we were still the first one to arrive.
We were welcomed by a guy called Tiny. Which is hysterically funny because the guy is well over 6'6 tall and wears a size fourteen joggers.
BJ was freaking out. He didn't want us to leave him anywhere. Us three had to stick together because he was well, nervous, freaked out - he wasn't himself.
Soon people started arriving. Even Mum and Uncle who got lost on the way.
We took a bunch of photos.
From the moment the organiser gave them the briefing.
To the time when they all had to introduce themselves.
And that's when I spotted this hunky guy just behind BJ.
Trust me to find a really hot guy at 8:30 in the morning.
Thank God for my digital camera, I was able to take almost close-up photos of him without looking like a total stalker.
One more time. He reminded me of a grown-up Fabio. He really did.
We took a bunch of group photos. Using my camera and Dimps'.
You take too much photos, BJ complained.
Well, how can you not? Their uniform reminded me of Roger Federer when he was playing in Australian Open.
It's a yummy colour of green. So refreshing.
Soon the group had to get on the bus to go to their respective places. We were left behind and I asked Dimps if we can go to Hungry Jack's for a quick feed.
After the feed, we saw the police escort.
So we had to look for BJ - where his place was and to take more photos before he started running.
We found him.
And he was running with this dude.
Some radio personality in Brisbane. I really don't know him, but since he's apparently famous, we decided to take a photo of him.
It wouldn't harm anyone anyway.
We clapped and cheered for BJ when they handed the torch to them.
I felt so proud. And he isn't even my brother.
We were yelling out to him to wave at the people.
People cheered when the torch passed them.
It really was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
So now, we all have to watch the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
Can't wait for that.
