The death of Moto

Moto had been going curry muncher on me for a while.

There was the Insert SIM incident. I had to bring him to the mobile shop and pay seventy dollars to have him working again.

Then there were the never ending Moto dropping incidents. Which I think gave way to him finally calling it a life.

Then lately, he's been going hard core on me. He wouldn't let me send a text message.

And to me that's something I just cannot do.

To not send text messages. I do an eighteen hour activities a day which requires me to be out of reach via voice calls.

So by the end of every lectures and every shifts, I received twenty missed calls, fifteen text messages and five voice mails. No joke.

I run out of credit because I constantly check my voice mails. About five times a day.

I cannot call them back because I only have about half an hour to spare to get to my next activity.

So I opt for text messaging. I send a text [same text] to everyone telling them why I haven't answered my phone, why I haven't replied to their texts and why I haven't returned their calls.

Text messaging is a big part of my everyday life. That's how I get in contact with everyone. So you can imagine my horror when Moto decided to punish me and not let me enjoy sending SMS to my friends.

Pure horror. I almost let out a blood-curling scream when Moto froze and restarted itself.

And as much as I hate to end my love affair with Moto, I had to do it. Fifteen months of constantly with me. Of being in my pocket and carrying him around all day. Of installing super cool MP3s and listening to it when I get bored.

Of looking through my message archives an consulting my datebook and to-do lists.

I had to end it.

But my love affair with Motorola does not end.

I opted for a slim silver phone to a slightly thicker black phone.

It's the same as Moto. Basically.

But only this one is darker, bigger and meaner.

My new phone is in the same family as Moto. It's a Motorola v3x.

I just love clam phones.

I also bought a protective plastic case just so when I drop it, it wouldn't do much damage. Hopefully.

I loved Moto. I still put him in my pocket and carry him around all day. And my SIM card is still in him. I refuse to take it out. They've been Bonnie and Clyde for as long as I remember.

But we do have to move on. I'd like to hold a funeral service for Moto but Uncle had been eyeing him for a while now and asking me if I can give Moto to him seeing as he doesn't text anyway and just use Moto for voice calls.

I'm still thinking but I think I'm going to eventually give him to Uncle. We'll see.

So new phone. Check.

I'm not a big fan of technology but next on my shopping list is either a laptop or a digital camera.
